Today I'm excited to bring you a podcast interview with Mark Thompson from Pay Kick Start.

Mark is someone that I have known online for a long time (in internet years).  Going back to around early 2013, Mark helped with me a big affiliate promotion for Long Tail Pro.  The first promotion went so well, that we did another one in 2015.

Mark got started selling a variety of products online, but really got into the swing of things when he started selling software.  However, it was more than just launching 12 to 14 software products that made him successful.  He and his partner, Matt Callen, both figured out the product launch formula extremely well to make sure their Digital Kickstart brand did well.

Mark and Matt could continue to launch more software products, but they created PayKickStart and see the big potential that it has.  As a result, they are focusing their energy and attention on this flag ship product and doing everything they can to grow it.

In my interview today, I talked with somebody that has built a six figure a year business on Fiverr, yup, on Fiverr.

Kendell Rizzo started out as a freelancer doing just about any writing job she could find. However, when she finally narrowed her focus on the niche of crowdfunding, the number of clients she got grew significantly.

In addition, she was able to charge higher prices. What I find fascinating about all of this is that she was able to use the Fiverr platform not to charge $5 of job but to charge hundreds of dollars per job depending on what was purchased.

Perrin and I are excited to bring you the income reports for the authority site and my amazon product.

We also discuss a pivot I am making in my business based on these numbers.

The details of these income reports can be found in this blog post from last week.

Here's a quick rundown of what we discuss on the podcast today:

Last month our authority site brought in $912.70, mostly from Kindle books, and some Adsense revenue.

However, at this point we’re facing a bit of a reality check: we’re now 10 months in to this project, and the traffic is not growing like we had hoped.

Currently we’re spending $3,000-4,000 per month on content creation and marketing. Over the past several months we’ve spent $15,000-20,000 and only realized $7,000 revenue.

On the other hand, my Amazon product launched March 28 and saw revenues of $4,400 in the first 30 days. This started as a very casual side project, but we sold out of the first batch of 105 units in 40 days for an initial revenue of $6,000.

Looking forward we’re planning to increase profit margins through lower freight costs and lower price per unit due to economies of scale with our manufacturer.

The difference in momentum between these two projects is allowing for a pretty clear decision in our business focus.

Today, Perrin and I get behind the microphone and discuss how to start and grow your own business through Amazon’s FBA program.

By following several key steps, I was able to sell $4,399 in product in just 30 days. Perrin and I share the process and answer some questions taken from the blog.

This is a very real business, which I hope to scale and see monthly earnings quadruple. The potential rewards are, in my opinion, much greater than a niche website.

Jon Cooper is a sophomore at the University of Florida studying finance.  Even though he's "younger", he happens to be a respected expert in the SEO arena; particularly when it comes to link building.

I had the absolute privilege of interviewing Jon Cooper recently to discuss niche sites, link building, and more.  Today I am excited to share that podcast interview with you!

I always love to hear the success stories from readers of my blog.  And this story is a big one.

I am absolutely blown away by the success that Hayden Miyamoto is having with small niche sites.  In particular, Hayden has refined his process post-Penguin and is doing better now than before!

Now only 2 months since Penguin, this new process has proved to be extremely fruitful - his income is already back up to $30,000 a month - all from small niche sites.
